When it comes to buy a laptop in college, you will get hundreds of different suggestions if you ask anyone how to buy a laptop. Another alternative is to go to any website or preferably any YouTube channel and see a guide but then you, a guy who needs help in to but a laptop , gets even more confused on what the youtube guy is speaking and again in confusion you end up buying a laptop that suits to the person who told you to buy the selected mode or laptop to buy. Then what is the benefit of wasting so much time to decide what laptop you have to buy. So for you guys i have made a simple blog to make you understand what can be your needs to by a laptop if you are a student and what components you have to look when you are buying a laptop on your own. After reading this blog you wont need any help regarding a laptop, you would be able to buy one on your own. and trust me you would be happy if you buy a laptop on your own choice. HOW Assuming that you are a college student, The requirement of laptop can be classified into three main categories in colleges. and yes all sub categories are covered into this so don't worry about them. First Type - For Programmers and Media Consumers. lets say if you are an Computer science student and want t learn programming and coding in C++ or python, and other than that you don’t require laptops for any other task such as gaming . so you need to buy a laptop that doesn’t need much processing power at all, your work would be done in entry level processors like Intel Celeron , Intel Pentium , intel i3. You actually don’t need to spend more on your laptop , because programming is a light weight process for processor and literally all laptop processor can handle it eighther its a 15k Netbook running windows 10 S or a full fledged fancy Apple Mac-book of 3 lakhs. the output would be same if you consider programming as your main workload. almost all entry level laptops will give you options for entertainment , let say you want to watch movie here and there , its surely possible on those laptops too. and due to less Horse power being consumed you would definitely get longer battery life. and if you are a media consumer, you watch videos on YouTube , watch movies, browse internet, then this type of laptop will suit you. some of the laptops that i would suggest you are linked below. and also check my youtube video it will help you to understand very well and you will get a even better perspective. Laptops that you can buy for programming - 1. Acer Aspire 3 2. Acer Aspire 3 3. Acer Aspire 3-Celeron 4. Dell Inspiron 14 i3 5. Hp 15 Core i3 6. Hp 15 Core i3 7.Apple Macbook Air Second Type - For Content Creators These laptops are for those friends who need a laptop for working on their creative contents, lets say you are a part-time photography enthusiast, and you edit photos on the go, or you are a YouTube and need a video editing machine on your lap, then you need to increase your budget to a higher limit because these laptops for editing and content creation need high processing power to be able to process, arrange sequence , render and encode videos in case of editing.talking of processor you would literally need a beast. the more powerful, the more number of ‘CPU Cores’ , the less time you would need to edit your videos. Go for any processor above i5 7th generation. A higher amount of ram will be needed to run heavy software like adobe premier , after effects. i would suggest anything above 8 GB would be fine but below that would give you minor tension in near future. and for storage in 2019 , a SSD is a must in this category. however you can go with HDD if your pocket doesn’t supports you it, i would prefer SSD for applications and a Hard Drive for archiving data.
1. Apple Macbook Air 2. Lenovo Ideapad 130 i5 3. Lenovo ideapad 330 4. Acer Predator Helios 5. Asus Vivobook i5 6. Mircrosoft Surface 2 7. Macbook Pro
Third Type - For Gaming And Heavy Use
Now when it comes to gaming, the smoother you want to play the more have to spend. Laptops are not best to play heavy game , those AAA titles like PUBG PC, Forza Horizon 4, you better go for desktop. but still you want to stick with laptop then in this case you need a powerful processor along with a powerful Graphics processor. In case of laptop go for dedicated gaming laptops and avoid 4k displays if our budget is a bit low because higher resolution gaming needs more processing power. Processor would be fine at above i5 7th gen, i7 or even AMD Ryzen 2nd gen would be a great choice. A minimum of 8GB ram is recommended for you, the higher you go the better it is. but don’t go higher than 32, it is already an overkill at 32. ib GPU if you are mid range at 50k to 60k Look for MX150 or GTX 1050 2GB or 4Gb, and above 65k GTX 1050ti, GtX 1060, GTX 1070, or GTX 1080 but go for a better cooling design on these higher ends because temperature matters.
Some best Gaming LAptops are.
